PREPARATION & BOOKING

IMG_7158.jpg

Thank you for your interest in preserving your bouquet! Your special day will not last forever but with my help, your flowers can. A lot of money is put into these beautiful bouquets and arrangements and they hold so much sentimental value so why not use them to create an heirloom piece of art to commemorate this special occasion!

A deposit of $200 (non-refundable) is required to reserve your spot. This money goes towards ordering the frame and other supplies needed. This deposit is deducted from the total cost of the frame.

Once you have made an order with us and we have received the deposit we will reach out to arrange a time for you to drop off your bouquet (Guelph, ON). It can also be shipped via overnight shipping - details will be provided if you’re interested in this option (costs of shipping are not covered by GWTF Design Co).

We can only accept a limited amount of bouquets per month so it is recommended to book early in order to guarantee your spot.

Please fill out the contact form below and I will reach out with the contract and deposit information.

THE PROCESS

IMG_7062.jpg

The bouquet must be received no later than 3 days after the event. In order to keep flowers fresh, we suggest you keep the flowers in clean water in a cold area away from sunlight. The better the condition of the flowers when I receive them the better the final outcome will be.

Once the flowers arrive the fun part begins! It is a slow process and can take anywhere from 5-8 months to fully dry the flowers and then create the final piece. I use up to 6 different pressing and preserving methods depending on the type of flower or plant being pressed in order to get the best result possible for your floral frame.

It’s important to note that colours may change throughout the pressing process – most commonly white flowers tend to become more yellow and many red flowers will become pinker through the process. Other flowers or plants can also have some discoloration and colors may lighten or darken through the drying process. Depending on the size and type of flower some flowers will be taken apart and then reconstructed in order to fit in the minimalistic frame.

Once the frame is complete I will be in contact with you to arrange a time for you to pick up your bridal bouquet frame.

WHAT TO EXPECT

IMG_3344_edited_edited_edited.jpg

These floral frames are made to last a lifetime but there are various factors that will impact its appearance over the years. The condition in which the flowers arrive to me plays a big role in how the flowers press as well as how they maintain their colour over the years. The flowers in these frames are 100% natural without added chemicals and colour enhancers so some fading over the years is normal and should be expected.

When finding a place to display your artwork we suggest placing it in an area with no direct sunlight and away from humid conditions.

The care for these frames is minimal, they can be gently cleaned with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. Due to the delicate nature of these frames, it is important that they are handled with care. If they are not handled accordingly it is possible for components to shift or break.

SIZING AND PRICES

UV Glass.png

The floating frames I use are custom-made for Go With The Flow and are made locally in Guelph, ON. All of the frames are made with UV glass in order to help protect the flowers and prevent fading. For an added cost you can opt for museum glass; it still offers UV protection but it reduces glare and increases the clarity of the artwork.

Once your order is placed I will reach out to discuss design options and how you want the flowers to be arranged. The flowers can be arranged in a traditional bouquet style or a deconstructed/abstract design.

For an added cost, mixed media components can also be added to the frame (must be flat) such as wedding invitations, photos, vows, lace from your wedding dress, etc. If you have a different idea in mind or prefer a different style of frame please reach out and I can provide you with more details.

Smaller add-on frames are available at a reduced cost with the purchase of a larger frame. See contract for details.

FAQ
  • Will there be discolouration over time?
Over time, the pressed flowers and plants will experience some discolouration. Some of which may fade faster than others. Ultimately, this fading is inevitable and a natural process. The main purpose of pressing and preserving flowers is not to necessarily retain the colour but to keep the shape and structure of the plant. This fading can be slowed down by keeping the frame out of direct sunlight.
  • Do you offer custom design and colour options?
If there are customized options, they can be found on the item listing. I will do my best to use colours or specific flowers that are requested; but ultimately, it will depend on availablility as well as what it is in season.
  • How do I care for the frame?
The care for these frames is minimal, they can be gently cleaned with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. Due to the delicate nature of these frames, it is important that they are handled with care.
  • How long will it take to make my order?
The time to make your pressed flower art will depend on the item. Each listing will have details for how long is reqiured to make the frame before it can be shipped. If it is a custom order or specific flowers were requested the time to complete the frame may be longer.
  • Where do you get your flowers? Are they natural?
My flowers and greenery come from a variety of different places - gardens, trails and florists are among some of the places I will collect my flowers from. All of my flowers and plants used are 100% natural and are not enhanced in any way.
